COURSE OBJECTIVE:

Upon completion of this course, the nursing assistant should be able to:

Demonstrate the use of scientific principles of care; governing selected nursing functions by passing written examinations, psychomotor skill test and other course requirements.

 Demonstrate the ability to function as a beginning nurse aide by:

  • Working as a responsible   member of the health care team

  • Recognizing physical and psychological changes in the client’s condition and promptly and accurately reporting these observations.

  • Completing required nursing procedures thoroughly with concerns for safety and comfort of the client.

LABORATORY OBJECTIVE:

  • To allow the students to practice and  perfect assigned procedures.

  • To allow the instructors to assist and test the psychomotor skills necessary to become a safe practitioner.

 CLINICAL OBJECTIVE:

  • To allow the students to function under supervision of a realistic setting.

  • To allow the student to function as member of the health care team while evaluating his/her desire to become a nurse aide in this type of health care facility.

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • You must pass a Reading

              Comprehension test.

  • You must be in good physical condition.

  • You must be legal to work in the U.S.

  • You must be interested in working with Elderly.

  • You must attend minimum of:

             80 hours of lecture and

             40 hours of clinical.
