VOCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:

The Physical Rehabilitation program is designed to prepare the students for employment as Physical Rehab Aide. Graduates work as Rehabilitation Aide in long term facilities, hospitals, sub-acute facilities, home health services, sports medicine facilities and

occupational clinics. Graduates will have knowledge in the following areas:

· Patient recovery
· Common physical disorders
· Infection Control
· Medical terminology
· Physical therapy treatments
· Information Pertaining to Charting
· Exercises and Mobility
· Physiology and Disease Process
· Proper positioning
· Prosthetic and Orthotic devices
· Principles of restorative care

TRAINING OBJECTIVES:

In Physical Rehab Aide Program, the student will learn proper positioning, use of assistive devices and physical therapy exercises. Physical therapy aides work with physical therapists or restorative nurses in the health care facility. They work in public and private hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers and schools for physically challenged.
